So before I talk about my new sewing skills I'll let you in on our life as of lately. Phil and I recently decided that we're spending too much time sitting around in the house. It's basically spring time here in Houston (with weather in the 50's and 60's everyday) so we decided that we should get out more. As a result we are now the proud owners of :
A croquet set. Try to contain your excitement for us. But seriously, I used to play croquet all the time with my brother and the neighborhood kids. Weird, yes. I'm pretty sure my mom just supplied us with tons of outdoor games so we wouldn't be bored. Kathleen bored=destructive. Example: trying to see who could get the biggest fire lit in the field behind our house.
I think Phil likes playing croquet though. If you haven't played before you should try it.
We also got tennis rackets! Neither Phil nor I really played tennis growing up, but he likes raquetball...and I would like racquetball if I wasn't chasing a ball being bounced in a million directions. I chose the picture of Waluigi playing tennis because most of our game play knowledge has seemingly come from play Mario Tennis on the Nintendo 64 and Game Cube. We're cool.
Last but not least...I have embarked upon an expedition to make myself more healthy. Thanks to Katie I have a plan to get my lazy butt into shape. Well...at least kind of. It's a 9 week running plan to get anyone (seriously...anyone) to be able to run a 5K. I have officially completed 2 weeks.
So far I've decided that I'm wildly out of shape. So much so, that I'm pretty sure I'm not benefiting from those cool exercise endorphines. I'm getting there though. I'm 2 weeks into it and I can see the possibility of me running a 5K getting closer. Here's the running plan...I highly recommend it!

I want to top this post off with my first real sewing accomplishment. I decided to make Phil's sister a tacky apron for her birthday. I even used a pattern and tried to do a real bonafide sewing project. My favorite part is the rooster/hen fabric I found. It's ridiculously tacky!
It still makes me chuckle. I think Phil's sister even likes it!
And that's all I've got!
